Bristol County Savings Bank Celebrates Opening of First Downtown New Bedford Office with Ribbon Cutting

TAUNTON, MA, May 16, 2018 — Bristol County Savings Bank (BCSB), headquartered in Taunton, Massachusetts, celebrated the recent opening of its new office in the historic Candleworks building at 70 North Water Street in downtown New Bedford with a ceremonial ribbon cutting today.  The opening marks the third banking office in New Bedford for the Bank and its first downtown.  The new office features a retail branch on the first floor (Water Street level), a loan office and community room on the second floor, drive-thru ITMs (Interactive Teller Machines), a night deposit box for business customers and ample off-street parking.

“Our downtown office has only been open for about a month, but we are already receiving great feedback on the banking experience here thanks to our renovation of this iconic building, the many conveniences this office offers our customers and the full-service banking opportunity we provide,” said Patrick Murray, President & CEO of Bristol County Savings Bank and President, Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation (BCSCF).  “We’ve had a pretty large footprint in New Bedford for a while but our new physical presence in the heart of downtown is allowing us to make even stronger connections throughout the local community.”

In addition to Murray, others participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony included: Jon Mitchell, Mayor of the City of New Bedford; Michele Roberts, Executive Vice President & Community Relations Officer, BCSB, and Clerk, BCSCF; David Medeiros, Vice President – Regional Banking Officer, BCSB; and Jeff Pagliuca, Vice President, Commercial Lending, BCSB.

“We are pleased to officially welcome Bristol County Savings Bank’s newest branch in the city, right in the heart of our growing downtown,” said Mayor Mitchell.  “With new restaurants, retail businesses and office spaces in downtown New Bedford, the branch is a convenient new location for those who work, shop and dine downtown.”
