Microchip Technology

Bristol County Savings Bank is in the process of updating all magnetic striped debit cards with new EMV chip card technology beginning on May 1st. Debit cards are being upgraded to the chip technology to provide an extra level of security and allow you to pay at international merchants where chip cards are the standard. They are simple to use and provide increased security. The chip contains information that is encrypted making it extremely difficult for the card to be copied or counterfeited.
