Blue Man Group

Hard to Describe. Easy to Love.

Image of Blue Man GroupOn Sunday, January 26th, PRIME TIME™ traveled to Boston for dinner and a show. The day began with a family-style meal at the famous Maggiano’s Little Italy on Columbus Avenue. We indulged in traditional Italian cuisine such as Tomato Caprese Salad, Four-Cheese Ravioli Fritté, Chicken Parmigiana, Lemon ‘n’ Herb Tilapia and Ziti with sausage. For dessert, we enjoyed Apple Crostada and Gigi’s Butter Cake – both out of this world! Our meal was simply ‘magnifico’ and PRIME TIME will definitely be back!

Following our delicious Italian feast, we took the short drive to the Charles Playhouse for the 4 pm performance of Blue Man Group. The show is performed in an intimate theater with seating for approximately 500. The first few rows from the stage are referred to as the ‘poncho section’. The group was NOT seated in this section and instead enjoyed reserved seats directly behind the splatter zone! Everyone received a paper bandana, which was worn proudly around our heads.

Like nothing you have ever seen, Blue Man Group is unique. As if they landed on Earth from another planet, the three bald, blue men do not speak but interact silently with the audience. They combine music, technology and comedy to create a show that is innovative, energetic, entertaining and fun! Our group of Prime Timers thoroughly enjoyed the show and agreed that Blue Man Group’s motto of “Hard to Describe. Easy to Love” is absolutely correct! The show cannot be explained; it can only be experienced!
