Longfellow’s Wayside Inn

Thursday, October 17th

For over three hundred years, the Inn has provided the setting for historic meetings and gatherings; the stories of which have been handed down from innkeeper to innkeeper and from neighbors to guests.

Step back in time with PRIME TIME™ on Thursday, October 17th as we travel to Central Massachusetts for a truly historic day! The day begins with a guided tour of Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House. This house is one of the oldest and most authentically-preserved historic sites in the county and most noted for being the place where Louisa May Alcott wrote and set her beloved classic, Little Women in 1868.

Following our tour, we’ll make our way to Longfellow’s Wayside Inn. This Historic Landmark is the oldest inn still operating in the United States; serving travelers along the old Boston Post Road for over 300 years! Today’s luncheon choices are Yankee Pot Roast or Boston Schrod. Meals are served with potatoes, fresh vegetables and a Gristmill bakery basket. After dessert, there’s time to explore the property’s exhibits and outbuildings on a self-guided tour. Take a walk though history as you visit the Red Stone Schoolhouse, tour an operating Grist Mill and relish the relics in the Wayside Inn, featuring three period-style museum rooms.

After our journey back in time, we’ll end the day with a visit to a local orchard for a treat before heading home.

Don’t miss this historic tour that will take you back 300 years! Trip cost is $99 for Prime Time members and $109 for you guests. Trip includes:
