Strawbery Banke … Where History Comes Alive!
Join PRIME TIME™ on Thursday, September 7th as we step over the threshold of history into life in one of our country’s oldest waterfront neighborhoods. Strawbery Banke is a 10-acre living history museum that has preserved the lifestyles and traditions of four centuries of New Englanders. It features more than 40 restored buildings built between the 17th and 19th centuries in the Colonial, Georgian and Federal style architectures. No matter your interests (crafts, architecture, food, furniture, textiles or gardening), Strawbery Banke has something for everyone.
After our museum visit, there’s time to explore the quaint seaport of Portsmouth. One of the oldest seaports in America, Portsmouth is “the crown jewel” of the New Hampshire seacoast and boasts 400 years of history, culture, architecture and scenic beauty!
Following our visit to Portsmouth and before heading home, we’ll enjoy a traditional Maine lobster bake at Fosters Clambakes. The menu consists of New England clam chowder, cultivated mussels, sweet corn on the cob, roasted red bliss potatoes and of course, succulent lobster (barbeque chicken or a vegetarian option may be substituted).
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience history ‘hands-on’. Trip cost is $89 for PRIME TIME Travel members and $99 for guests. Price includes:
- Roundtrip transportation
- Visit to Strawbery Banke
- Independent time in Portsmouth
- Traditional Lobster bake at Fosters Clambakes
- Escorted by Bank personnel
- includes all taxes and gratuities
