Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation Awards $322,400 In Grants To 40 Non-profits In Communities the Bank Serves

TAUNTON, MA, June 10, 2026 — Bristol County Savings Bank’s Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation (BCSCF) awarded grants totaling $322,400 to 40 non-profit organizations in the Taunton/Attleboro, New Bedford-Dartmouth/Fall River and the greater Providence, Rhode Island regions during a ceremony today at White’s of Westport in Westport, Massachusetts.  Since the Foundation was formed in 1996, more than $37 million has been committed to hundreds of different non-profits in the communities the Bank serves.  In 2025, the Foundation awarded $2.9 million to various 501(c)(3) organizations.

The organizations that received grants from the Foundation are as follows:

Taunton/Attleboro Community, $50,000 – Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts ($10,000), Pave Your Path ($7,500) Reach Out and Read ($5,000), SAFE Coalition ($7,500), The Arc of Bristol County ($1,000) and Triumph ($10,000).

SouthCoast Community, $129,900 – Argosy Collegiate Charter School ($10,000), Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford ($9,900), Community Action for Better Housing ($15,000), Discover Language Academy ($5,000), Fall River Arts and Culture Coalition ($5,000), My Brother’s Keeper ($10,000), Nativity Preparatory School New Bedford ($10,000), New Bedford Art Museum ($5,000), New Bedford Symphony Orchestra ($5,000), Our Sister’s School ($10,000), Rhode Island Philharmonic & Music School ($5,000), The S.E.A.L. Foundation ($7,500), uAspire ($5,000), Veteran’s Transition House ($10,000), YEAH! Corps ($7,500) and YWCA of Southeastern Massachusetts ($10,000).

Rhode Island Community $142,500 – Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy ($20,000), Books Are Wings ($7,500), Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket ($12,500), Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Rhode Island ($10,000), College Visions ($5,000), Family Service of Rhode Island ($10,000), Federal Hill House Association ($10,000), Generation Citizen ($5,000), Haus of Codec ($5,000), Junior Achievement of Rhode Island ($7,500), Rhode Island Free Clinic ($10,000), Rhode Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce ($5,000), Rhode Island Tutorial & Educational Services ($5,000), San Miguel School of Providence ($5,000), Sojourner House ($10,000), The Empowerment Factory ($5,000), The Learning Community Charter School ($5,000) and Trinity Repertory Company ($5,000).

John Silva, President of the Foundation and President & CEO of Bristol County Savings Bank, awarded the grants to the organizations.  Also participating in the event were: Paul Coogan, Mayor, City of Fall River; Janet Barbosa, Director of Special Projects & Programs, Office of Jon Mitchell, Mayor of the City New Bedford; and representatives from the BCSCF board and the Bank’s area branches.

“As a community bank, we embrace a corporate culture of ‘putting people first’ in everything we do and what better example of that than supporting the good work of all the non-profits we recognized today,” said Silva.  “The initiatives we are facilitating with these grants will help local organizations and the residents they serve in a myriad of ways which will continue to strengthen the overall fabric of our local community.”

Bristol County Savings Bank is an active supporter in the communities in which it serves. The Foundation was established in 1996 as part of the Bank’s 150th Anniversary celebration.  Its purpose is to fund needs that contribute to the economic and the social well-being of the people and institutions located in the greater Taunton/Attleboro region, the greater New Bedford/Dartmouth region, the greater Fall River region and greater Providence, Rhode Island region, with particular emphasis in the areas of education and literacy, economic development and housing for the low- to moderate-income population.
