September 16-19, 2024

Join PRIME TIME™ as we explore Lancaster County, PA and discover the oldest Amish communities in the country on this 4-day excursion, September 16th – 19th. Lancaster County offers wide open spaces and a peaceful change of pace for those needing a tranquil getaway.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Today, we begin with an early morning departure as we head to the picturesque Amish country. Rest and lunch stops (on your own) will be made en route. This afternoon, we check into the Eden Resort & Suites in Lancaster, Pennsylvania for a 3-night stay. Tonight, we’ll enjoy an Amish plated dinner at the Plain & Fancy Farm Restaurant located in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. (D)

Day 2: We’ll begin the day with a full breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we’ll head to The Li’l Country Store and Miniature Horse Farm. This unique location houses a gift shop, a woodworking shop and a miniature horse farm. Following our visit, we’ll enjoy an authentic meal at an Amish home. The menu includes hearty and simple Amish favorites from family recipes that have been passed from mother to daughter. Following lunch, we’ll enjoy a scenic bus tour of the beautiful Amish countryside before arriving at the breath-taking Sight and Sound Theatre for the brand new original stage production of Daniel.

Taken from his people, Daniel is exiled far from home in the powerful kingdom of Babylon. Now this faithful servant must navigate his new life inside a palace filled with golden statues and shifting empires. As royal pressures mount, Daniel is faced with a dangerous choice. From the fiery furnace to the infamous den of lions, Daniel is a spectacular theatrical experience.

For dinner this evening, we’ll experience dining at Lancaster County’s largest smorgasbord, which features 200 feet of deliciously authentic Pennsylvania Dutch cooking, in addition to some exciting new dishes. (B,L,D)

Day 3: After breakfast, we’ll depart for the historical Hershey’s World Trolley Tour, a guided trolley tour that explores the town’s history and life story of chocolatier, Milton Hershey. Following the tour, we’ll visit the Kitchen Kettle Village. This village offers authentic Pennsylvania Dutch Country shopping and homemade food in over 40 specialty shops. Later, we’ll learn about Amish culture and beliefs from an in-house tour guide at a historic farmhouse where an Amish family once lived and worked. The information continues as the guide “steps on” our motorcoach to provide a tour of picturesque Lancaster County countryside. This evening, we’ll enjoy “dinner and a show.” Dinner is at the Bird in Hand Restaurant where their motto is “Come Hungry. Eat Hearty. Go Home Happy.” After dinner, we’ll see a show (TBD) at the Fulton Theatre, reportedly the oldest working theater in the United States. (B,D)
