Day 1: Our journey begins as we travel north to the stunning shores of coastal Maine. Upon arrival, we’ll immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, one of the largest botanical gardens in New England. Later, we’ll settle into the charming Boothbay Harbor Inn, located just steps from the heart of downtown Boothbay Harbor. This evening’s dinner is at the hotel and includes your choice of sirloin steak, chicken cordon bleu or baked stuffed haddock. (D)
Day 2: After breakfast, we’ll board the Bennie Alice for a relaxing one-hour cruise of beautiful Boothbay Harbor. As we sail along Maine’s picturesque coastline, keep your camera ready for iconic lighthouses, soaring ospreys, and hard-working lobstermen hauling their traps. Our voyage will bring us to Cabbage Island for an authentic Downeast Clambake experience you won’t soon forget. The clambake includes a cup of fish chowder, two luscious lobsters (chicken may be substituted), steamed clams, corn on the cob and the best blueberry cake in Maine! This evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. (B, L)
Day 3: Following breakfast, we travel to Wiscasset, affectionately known as “The Prettiest Village in Maine.” Here, we’ll visit the Taste of Maine Center, where we’ll explore the flavors and traditions that define the Pine Tree State. Following our tasting, enjoy free time to explore, shop, and savor one last taste of Maine before we begin our journey home – hearts full and spirits refreshed. (B)
