Bristol County Savings Bank Joins RI AnchorHome Program
Helping to expand affordable homeownership opportunities in Rhode Island
TAUNTON, MA, October 15, 2026 — Bristol County Savings Bank is proud to announce its participation in RI AnchorHome, a homeownership program led by Rhode Island General Treasurer James A. Diossa that helps provide first-time homebuyers with affordable, sustainable mortgage options. As part of the program’s latest expansion, Bristol County Savings Bank has joined RI AnchorHome as a participating lender, helping extend access to affordable home financing for more Rhode Islanders seeking to purchase their first home.
Treasurer Diossa announced the program’s third phase alongside Governor Dan McKee, Senator Jacob E. Bissaillon, Representative June Speakman, and leaders from participating financial institutions. Since its launch in December 2025, RI AnchorHome has helped finance 119 home purchases totaling more than $45 million for first-time homebuyers across Rhode Island. Through this third phase of expansion, the program will continue building on that momentum by adding new lending partners and increasing access to affordable homeownership opportunities statewide.
“RI AnchorHome is helping more Rhode Island families take an important step toward stability and opportunity,” said John Silva, President and CEO of Bristol County Savings Bank. “Homeownership can change the course of a family’s future, and this program is making that future more accessible for first-time buyers across our state. We’re proud to be part of an effort that is opening doors, strengthening communities, and creating lasting impact.”
RI AnchorHome leverages state deposits to support affordable mortgage products offered by participating local financial institutions. When a qualifying first-time homebuyer is approved for a mortgage through a participating lender such as Bristol County Savings Bank, the State deposits matching funds into an account at that same institution, helping support more affordable lending options while maintaining responsible underwriting practices. Program features include:
- 30-year fixed-rate mortgages
- Starting interest rate of 3.99%, subject to market conditions
- No private mortgage insurance (PMI)
- Support for down payment and closing cost assistance
- Mandatory homeownership counseling
Bristol County Savings Bank is proud to support initiatives that promote mortgage accessibility, financial wellness, and stronger communities throughout the region. By participating in RI AnchorHome, the Bank continues its commitment to helping individuals and families pursue long-term financial stability through homeownership.
